Ingredients

Organize the ingredients - chickpeas, spices (paprika, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, dried oregano), feta, greek yogurt, lemon zest, garlic, olive oil and salt.

Prepping the Chickpeas

Transfer chickpeas to a large bowl and add 2 tablespoons olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, red pepper flakes and salt. Toss chickpeas with the spices until beans are thoroughly coated.

Cooking the Chickpeas

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place the spiced chickpeas in a single layer on a foil or parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Cook undisturbed for 20-25 minutes or until chickpeas are crispy on the outside.

Whipping the Feta

While the chickpeas are cooking, blend together the feta, yogurt, garlic, lemon zest until smooth, approx 1 minute.

Swirl the Whipped Feta into a Shallow Bowl

Transfer the whipped feta to a shallow bowl or medium-sized platter and use a spoon or spatula to swirl the feta.

  • 1 can (15.5 ounces) garbanzo beans drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil plus more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon paprika reg or smoked
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes use more or less according to you spice preference
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • 1 1/4 cups feta cheese
  • Zest of 1/2 a lemon approximately 1 tablespoon plus more for garnishing
  • Sprig or two of fresh dill optional

Notes

This recipe can easily be doubled for a larger party.
Adding a drizzle of honey or hot-honey would be very tasty.
