Cranberry Mustard Relish

Cooking for Thanksgiving can be overwhelming so it is absolutely critical to have a few easy recipes in your back pocket. Cranberry Mustard Relish is one of those recipes because it’s super simple to make (only 4 ingredients!), can be made ahead of time (yes!!), and is incredibly flavorful – seamlessly combining tart, sweet and spicy.

Organize ingredients – cranberries, sugar, dijon mustard, and grainy mustard.

Combine Cranberries with the Sugar

Combine cranberries and sugar in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, uncovered until sugar dissolves. Continue cooking until cranberries begin to pop, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Remove cranberries from the heat and allow to cool.

Combine Mustards with the Cranberries

Once cranberries have cooled completely, stir in both mustards.

Transfer relish to a medium-sized serving bowl and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 12 ounce package fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1⅓ cups sugar
  • tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • tablespoons whole grain Dijon mustard

Instructions

  • Combine cranberries and sugar in a medium saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat, uncovered until sugar dissolves. Continue cooking until cranberries begin to pop, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Remove cranberries from the heat and allow to cool.
  • Once cranberries have cooled completely, stir in both mustards.
  • Transfer relish to a medium-sized serving bowl and enjoy!

Notes

Do Ahead: Relish can be made 1 week ahead. Cover and refrigerate.
The amount of sugar can be modified to one cup if you prefer a less sweet relish.
This cranberry relish is delicious on salmon and chicken as well as roast turkey.
