Spicy Honey-Glazed Brussels Sprouts
Spicy Honey-Glazed Brussels Sprouts is the result of a cooking mistake. I accidentally poured nearly 1/4 cup of ground black pepper onto the brussels sprouts! (I was recovering from wrist surgery so I couldn’t use a pepper grinder.) Frantically, I removed as much of the pepper as possible but, as you can imagine, there was still more pepper than I would normally add…way more! To offset the spiciness, I added honey to the brussels sprouts and as a result, this recipe was born. Sometimes mistakes are the best way to develop new recipes! Now I have a sweet, crispy, spicy brussels sprouts recipe that’s one of my favorites.

Clean Brussels Sprouts as best as possible. Cut in half and save outer leaves that may fall off as you are cutting (unless they are dirty). For larger Brussels Sprouts, cut into quarters.
Cooking the Brussels Sprouts
Next, add oil to the pan and once heated, add garlic for 30 seconds.
Then place Brussels Sprouts in pan cut-side down and add any loose leaves that fell off. Use tongs or your fingers to accomplish this. Cook undisturbed for 5 minutes.
Using tongs, give the Brussel Sprouts a shake and turn. Add pepper and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Lastly, add honey and cook for an additional 30 seconds – 1 minute.
