GF Goat Cheese Puffs

GF Goat Cheese Puffs

These GF Goat Cheese Puffs are warm little gems with a golden, flaky exterior and a creamy, tangy center that practically melts in your mouth. They’re the kind of appetizer that disappears faster than you can set them down. Trust me…I‘m totally guilty.

Organize the ingredients – gluten free puff pastry, goat cheese, multi-color sesame seeds, egg wash, honey and dill.

Prepping the Puff Pastry

Defrost puff pastry according to package directions. Then unfold the sheet and cut into quarters. (I used half of the package for this recipe). Cut each quarter into 5 approximately equal rectangles (see above). Use a fork to make an indentation in the middle of the rectangles for the goat cheese and then prick some fork holes to allow the pastry to bake even and flat.

Assembling the Goat Cheese Puffs

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place a heaping teaspoonful of goat cheese in the middle of each rectangle. (I don’t measure. I approximate.) Next, brush the egg wash along the edges of the rectangle. Once again, it’s not an exact science. Sprinkle the wash with sesame seeds and top goat cheese with a drizzle of honey.

Baking the Puff Pastry

Transfer the rectangles to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Cook for 18 minutes, until puff pastry edges are golden brown.

Notes

Any type of rough chopped toasted nut would also be delicious as a topper.
Half of the package will make 10 goat cheese puffs. If only using half of the dough, keep it refrigerated until ready to use again but wait no more than 3 days to do so.
